After some work and procrastination, the 2004 video
is finally ready. The video has chases from April 16th, May 8th, May 24th, June 11th, and August 3rd.
The video is not all that exciting, but there is a mix of severe weather products.
Running time is about 35 minutes. If you'd like a DVD (or VHS) just send
Travis an email.
Here's a summary of the video clips:
April 16th - This chase started out as just shooting some lightning video, but as the storm system got closer to Boone, it became severe, mainly due to the high winds associated with the storm. The majority of the video was taken from the just outside the Northeast corner of the Boone city limits.
May 8th - This storm had reportably produced a tornado near the town of Adel. The storm never exhibited much rotation, but it did drop some nickel to quarter size hail.
May 24th - This storm produced a lot of rotation, but it never made it to the lower levels. Did encounter high winds and heavy rain as the storm passed through.
June 11th - This video of the tornado was taken North of Boone about 12 miles. The tornado did damage some out buildings at a farmstead. After the tornado portion of the video there is some video of other rotation in the storms. It was a very active night in rural Hamilton and Boone counties, with over 100 chasers from across the central US including the Doppler on Wheels in the area.
August 3rd - This chase had a one-two punch. It started out with neat lightning (notice how close some of it is,) followed by a very defined gust front that pushed through.
